Leaning into the ethos of a play-based process, I imbued this body of work with an amalgam of references, ancient and contemporary. What you are seeing here is the primordial soup, so to speak, of the studio!

Often, we can lean on the artists explanation or an “experts” analysis of the work to color our understanding of the art. It’s something even I do, especially in the fast-paced, ephemeral visual landscape we are thrust into. But here I would implore you, dear viewer, to delve into your own feelings, ideas, and reactions to the work. However institutionalized art and design may seem, it will always, first and foremost, be a personal experience. Sure, context helps and may even shift the narrative that you’ve crafted around the work, but the visceral feeling you have is yours and yours alone, and we must all reprioritize and hone into that. It’s what makes art so uniquely human, and it’s what allows us to connect to ourselves and with others if we allow it to.
