At Open Play, we explore what narratives and frameworks organically emerge as we live in a globalized society with access to histories and symbologies of many different cultures as well as new and emerging symbologies which are the amalgamation of contemporary cultures and synergies.

How can we create our own practices and meaning making in an increasingly ephemeral communication landscape—stories, objects, and cultures don’t get passed down or spread in the same tangible (and thus stickier) ways.

Open Play Studio utilizes object oriented ontologies to help bridge the gap between ephemeral ideas and tangible processes. Starting with just cards, it invites you to charge the objects with narratives and meaning of your own making, and store your own index of references within the art on the card within a larger collective index.
